Barb Tiger Green | Capoeta tetrazona green

08 June 2022 - Kategori Blog

The main body of the Green Tiger Barb is dark neon green with silver/gold patches and orange-accented fins. They are very lively and playful fish who prefer to go to school. They prefer a well-planted tank of at least 30 gallons with soft, slightly acidic water. Rocks and driftwood can be added to the aquarium, but leave plenty of room for swimming.

The Green Tiger Barb is a very active fish that can irritate or even bite the fins of larger and slower moving fish. It is best, when trying to breed a Green Tiger Barb, placing a number of Barbs in the same tank until they pair up. After the pair breeds, the female will lay eggs and the male will follow behind to fertilize.

The seeds will swim freely after about 5 days. Feed the newly hatched brine shrimp fry until they are large enough to accept the crushed flake food. The Green Tiger Barb needs to be fed a variety of foods including vegetables as well as meaty foods. Feed quality flake foods as well as live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms.

Tiger barbs are aquarium fish that are usually kept in large numbers. Active and attractive, they can be a great addition to a home aquarium

Native to Asia, they are often farmed and available through your local fish supplier.

Tiger Barbs are available in a variety of colors and are kept in groups according to their  species. While they can be aggressive and should not be kept with shy fish, they do not need to be kept alone. In fact, it is best for them to keep them in sufficient numbers .

They are a hardy species, relatively easy to care for and an excellent choice for beginners, but will still provide a lot of fun for the experienced hobbyist.
