Albino Tinfoil Barb | Barbodes Schwanenfeldi
Tendadak fish (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) is one of the potential local commodities to be developed in aquaculture activities. In some areas in Sumatra and Kalimantan, this tinfoil barb is one of the most popular consumption fish. However, information about the growth of this scorpion fish is still scarce. Therefore, the aspect of the growth of scallops is needed to determine the extent of the prospect of rearing scorpion fish for cultivation and for conservation.
The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the growth performance of the scorpion fish. In this study, the scorpion fish used were the black scallop and the albino scorpion. Both types of fish are kept in separate ponds measuring 1 x 1 meter. Each pond has a density of 20 birds with 2 replications. The feed given is commercial feed as much as 3-5% of body weight per day. This study lasted for 5 months with data collection every 1 month.
The data taken are length and weight data of fish, so that length, weight, biomass, and specific growth rate can be known. From the results of this study, the following information was obtained: Albino hornbill, length increase 3.05 ± 0.0006 cm, weight growth 16.58 ± 1.351 grams, biomass increase 331.6 ± 11.31 grams, and specific growth rate 0.155 ± 0 .0129 grams. Black hornbill, length increase 2.87 ± 0.2779 cm, weight growth 16.94 ± 2.574 grams, increase in biomass 338.8 ± 63.00 grams, and specific growth rate 0.156 ± 0.0200 grams.
